I am so grateful for all that you have contributed to my music world. Your arrangements of others’ works and your delightful originals have blessed my ward choirs for years. I was thrilled to see that your “Close as a Quiet Prayer” is in the new collection of hymns. We are singing it on the 30th of August.
Thank you for your generous sharing of your amazing talent!

Dear Sally.. I just finished another hour of practicing music that you wrote. I have been playing such joyous things for longer than I can remember. I am now 80 and so happy still have fingers that are fairly nimble and a brain which works often enough to keep me from worrying too much, but not enough to feel comfortable performing solos in Sacrament Meeting. Thank you for providing such a joyous outlook on life, and on the gospel. Just know that there is a little old lady in Taylorsville, you thinks of you with love almost every day.

Sally I just heard about your music and was told you were born in Eugene, Oregon. Bishop Ainge was my bishop and I wondered what your maiden name was. How long were you in the ward? Just curious. My grandmother was Macie Evans and she played the organ.

I sang "Prayer is the Soul's Sincere Desire" for service this morning, and wow, so beautiful and meaningful for the congregation. As a fellow composer/arranger, what a fantastic setting and poetic choice!

MsDeFord , thank you for your contributions to sacred music .

As a Utah Latter Day Saint, I brightened up when a DeFord piece was used in today’s United Methodist Service in Tucson. ( I attended to support my family member. )

What a pleasure to discover your music! I am sorry to hear you had a stroke, but, maybe it was a sign that you worry about life happenings instead of remembering that God is in control. Perhaps time to let go and let God... Think that trials are proof of God's care... to remind us that nothing is as important as letting God taking care of business because it does it through Love!

I hope that you are recovering and feeling like yourself again. You are truly a gift and a blessing to the world. Your songs are in my top favorites. I thought I was the only one drawn to Joseph’s role with the infant Savior until I heard and have sung Guard Him Joseph. I’m a cancer nurse and I sang that for one of our patients that had just been placed on hospice. She exclaimed afterwards, “how did you know I’ve always loved Joseph?” Thank you for sharing your gifts.
