I like this one Sally! I'm looking for something to sing for some voice lessons. Of course she will probably want me to perform. This suits my mood and frame of mind. Is there music for it available? I don't see any.

Thank you Sally for writing the story behind "when it rains". Your daughter shared the song with me after i shared a meme/thought of umbrellas letting us stand in the trials of life's rain and more. I knew you usually wrote up the background of a story and came chasing it down. Thank you for sharing.
As a lifetime optimist and faithful Christian, it has been such a trial, unexpectedly, to struggle living overseas (military assignment) when I thought we'd love it. To live in another culture with their own take on pandemic restrictions. To battle health issues after arriving that seem related to travelling here and chronic bad air here. How could the Lord have seen fit to say "yes, go ahead" when we prayed to accept an extra year on our assignment here, before coming and having these issues? We didn't know what was ahead, and certainly He did. I know the Lord is good and i *absolutely know* we are in His hands. In His loving, aware, and knowing hands.
We are halfway thru our time here and i struggle nearly daily to be grateful for all the many, many blessings that accompany our time here. Yet, i know it is the way. And I have joy between the despairing.
It is strange to be teaching my children to be thankful when I struggle to be thankful. It is strange to want to wait for the "ah, here's the blessing" when i KNOW we will find out later and now is not the time.
So, when it rains.
I practice intentional faith, as you wrote. Conscious faith. The faith i grew up with has much growing pains going to the gym of life - but I know I want to come out WITH my faith, not losing it.

I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis of MS! It is a quiet, hidden, frustrating illness. I have lived with it for about 35 years; the Lord has walked (and stumbled) with me every step of the way...even when I didn't realize it at the time. Stay positive and know he's with you.

Thank you for your songs. They touch my heart! Les

Dear Sally,
How grateful I am for your gift of music so selflessly shared with all of us! You are an amazing woman and gifted musician. I have been a Ward Chorister and music chairman since I was 19 (now 70) and was blessed to find your music and have it shared in our Ward. Our Ward choir will be singing "No Room, No Room" this year in our Christmas Sacrament meeting along with a women's trio singing "When Mary Sang Her Lullaby", our young men and young women will be singing "If I Had Been in Bethlehem" and my granddaughter and niece will be singing "On a Still and Starry Night"(hope you don't mind but I wrote an alto part for them), plus I have an sister with a beautiful voice singing "There Within a Stable". We have a sister in our Ward that plays the flute beautifully so she will also be accompanying a couple of the numbers. Our Young Women will also be singing "My Grateful Spirit Sings" before Thanksgiving. We have used so much of your beautiful music and I'm so thankful that you don't charge for it so that I can make 30 copies for our Ward Choir and not have to go to the Bishop for funds to pay for it. A thank you seems shallow, but God bless you for all you do to bless our lives with your God-given musical talents and abilities.
