I absolutely love the introduction to this song – the music FEELS like the dawn is breaking. So beautiful, and the lyrics are well-written. Thank you Sally! I am a fairly new choir director in my ward and having your music available to us for no cost is so generous of you. We will be singing it as a hymn arrangement for Easter but in the future I may have to consider some of the other options you have given for instrumentalists! I’m a fan of Sally DeFord music.

I plan to use the hymn for my women’s ensemble for Easter (some of us sing tenor), but I wanted to use pieces of the accompaniment from the other ensemble music to make things more interesting. However, in trying to meld a few things together, I realized that the hymn is in a different key! Is there a way to transpose one of the other pieces so it will be easier to use?

Actually, I never sang a solo, but I had 3 people sing, a soprano, an alto and a tenor, and I played the piano. I think it went well! They did great! it’s flexible, the song is! Althea

In reply to Althea Blackburn. Althea, I offer CDs for convenience... obviously... since the tracks are free for download here. My CD company discontinues disks that haven't been purchased in 6 months, so older ones often drop off. Physical media just isn't the thing these days. :)

In reply to Rieley Dearing. I would love to have the recording done by James, or anyone really. This is one of my favorites. I noticed that older cd's with James on them are no longer offered, sad about that really, no help for it though I'm sure.
