Just discovered your site and think your efforts are wonderful. Looked to see what Personal Composer was as I sometimes as a lowly choir member without any significant music background (electrical engineer) modify scores to accommodate the capabilities of our small group. As you point out the lack of support for Personal Composer, I would like to suggest the possibility of the free "MuseScore" program "https://musescore.org/en" which has developed significantly over the years since I first discovered it and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It has grown so much that I am no longer familiar with all its capabilities. For purposes of scanning printed scores, I have used the purchased the program "SharpEye 2" from "http://www.visiv.co.uk/" which has fulfilled my limited needs for converting songs from old, yellowed songbook pages to 8.5x11 scores. It combined with MuseScore has also allowed me to produce synthesized accompaniments.

I have version 2..0.5 and for the most part, it works quite well in Windows 11. I am having issues with triplets. Can't do them, or I've just forgotten how in PC Comp (help doesn't work). I'm also able to transpose earlier *.PC files with no problems. I might just go on ebay and see if someone has an old Win 8 computer and install PC on it. Just to check it out.

In reply to <a href="https://defordmusic.com/transposing-using-personal-composer/#comment-19360">Sally DeFord</a>.

Sterling mentioned NIF, but I think MIDI is better because newer programs can still import it, but I rarely see anything importing NIF or PC. Even MuseScore (free music notation program) can import midi natively.

Sally, You are a true angel. I just transposed Born Is the Light of the World into a more friendly key for my string orchestra. You coached an old lady like me through it - maybe you should be in IT? Thank you so much for making your amazing music available for everyone.

I was wondering if you would consider replacing the .pc files with music xml files which would future-proof them and allow them to be opened in any editor.

I was wonderingnif you had an accompaniment tracknfor I heard the bells, the satb version. I see the sheet music but not the performance track. I would like to do this with a quarter for christmas eve service in my church. We do not currently have a piano player in our church as ours retired.
