The Master’s Voice
About the Song
The solo version is one step lower than the SSAATTB version. The accompaniments are interchangeable. (Heather’s recording uses the SSAATTB score.)
This song is a part of the “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee” cantata.

Lyrics
Come unto me, the Savior said
Learn of me, listen to my words
The multitudes that followed there in Galilee
Marveled at His wisdom, at the truth they heard Him speak
For in the Master’s voice
They heard the power that framed the heavens
The peace that stilled the tempest
The love that saves us all
Oh, can you hear His voice
Re-echo o’er the ages?
With the promise of salvation to our souls
With the hope of life and everlasting joy
To the humble who will hear the Master’s voice
Abide in me, the Savior said
Walk with me in meekness and be blessed
He taught them on the mountain; He taught them by the sea
In word and deed He taught them, and He said, “Come, follow me.”
And in the Master’s voice
They heard the power that framed the heavens
The peace that stilled the tempest
The love that saves us all
Oh, can you hear His voice
Re-echo o’er the ages?
With the promise of salvation to our souls
With the hope of life and everlasting joy
To the humble who will hear the Master’s voice

This lovely piece was sung by our soloist on Sunday in the Christian Science Church of Hendersonville, NC. It was so inspiring I asked if I could find it online in order to print it for future study. Thank you for your kind gift – making it available for others to enjoy.
Thanks for all you do, Sister Deford to publish God’s work through music for free. From a brand new ward choir director.
Hi I love this piece so much. It gives peace to my weary soul. How can I have a copy of the piano piece? Thanks
Ann, it looks like you’re missing the download link for the sheet music. Just open the tab above that says “Sheet Music Downloads.” Then click the version you want. A PDF should open in your browser, and you can print it from there. Or, you can right-click the link and save the file to your computer.

Can I know th story behind this wonderful piece🙏🏽?
Hi, I was trying to download the medium/high voice sheet music for “The Masters Voice” but I just get sheet music for the medium to low voice. Is there just the one? I would like to print off the one used by Heather Prusse.
Thank you,
Toni
hey Toni! I know this was written a long time ago, but the choir version of the song is written in a higher key (better suited for medium/high voices in my experience) and has the same accompaniment so if you give your accompanist the choir sheet music and keep the solo version for yourself for reference, that might work out just fine.
Is the The Master’s Voice accompaniment not available for free download?
