How Can I Do Anything but Love Him?
I know he died for me, for you and all mankind that we might live again through the resurrection. I know that he died that I might be forgiven my follies, my sins, and be cleansed from them. How wonderful is this love. How can I, knowing this, do anything else but love him, my Redeemer?
Joseph Fielding Smith
About the Song
As I read this quote for the first time during a lesson in Relief Society (the LDS women’s organization), it simply sang to me. It was a song waiting to happen. I think I missed everything else the teacher said that day. It was such a beautiful thought that it took hold of me and wouldn’t let go until I did something with it.

Lyrics
God’s own Son
Who set the worlds in motion
Who filled the deepest oceans
And lit the starry skies
Came as man
To share our mortal weakness
To make Himself in meekness
His creation’s sacrifice
To show us love beyond all love
To wash away my sins
To live and die that such as I might live
Chorus:
Then how can I do anything but love Him?
And honor Him with every breath I take
Then how can I do anything but love Him?
The Holy One who suffered for my sake
He bled and died to make me His
He gave me life, and knowing this
How can I do anything but love Him?
When I stray
He seeks me as I wander
It fills me up with wonder
To know His fervent care
And when I weep
His kindess stills my aching
My shattered heart remaking
From the ashes of despair
When justice claims my soul His tender mercy intercedes
Redeems the lost, and pays the cost for me
(Repeat chorus)

I love your music very much. My voice is baritone bass. How can i lower the tune?
I was given this music to accompany a young lady, I had not heard it before I and I can’t wait for Sunday to come to hear her sing this. What a beautiful piano part to go along with it too. Thank you
Is there an SATB audio so that we can hear how this song sounds as a choir?

I absolutely love this….But I need an SATB version.
Can this be sung in LDS sacrament?
The final say on what can be sung in LDS Sacrament meetings belongs to the bishop of the ward. He may delegate that to a counselor or to the ward music chairman. As long as you have that approval, then yes, you can sing this in your Sacrament meeting. 🙂
