About the Song

This is a song of thankgiving. Not to be confused with the good old American “Thanksgiving Day” that happens on the fourth Thursday of November where we eat too much turkey and pie (though it would certainly do for that holiday).

 
This is the more enduring “thanksgiving” that lasts beyond the leftovers.
 
This is the impulse to express to our Heavenly King how grateful we are for the countless blessings He sends. This is the gratitude that is kept alive in our heart in good times or bad, in pleasant times or times not so pleasant. This is the spirit of thanksgiving that is meant to accompany us in every grateful moment that we live.
 
When the sun shines and “warms the day,” be thankful. When the skies are full of “clouds that break in healing rain,” be thankful. For all His care and kindness, be thankful. All things are part of His glorious plan.
The song is set for solo, duet, or SATB. The words are by yours truly, the melody and the accompaniment are written by Katherine Wright. Katherine has also included a flute obbligato that you don’t want to miss.
