New Music: Two Christmas Carols for 2024
Happy Christmas in October!
Happy Christmas in October!
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger…
Our Heavenly Father speaks to us in many different ways. As I took down the Christmas tree, He spoke to me through an ornament I had seen hundreds of times.
This is a page full of happiness.
I’ve added two new Christmas songs this time, and the title above is (obviously) not one of them.
A Christmas song about Jesus our Savior, born to be the Light and Life of the world.
When Christ the Lord was born many wonderful things happened–most wonderful of all, God kept the promise He made before the world began: that He would send us a Savior.
These words came to me out of the blue one day recently, and after I managed to stop rewriting old songs (a really bad habit of mine) it came together quickly.
The words to this song came to me unexpectedly. How thankful I am that my Heavenly Father was willing to inspire these lyrics in spite of my inadequacy!
Celebrating what matters most–the promise of life found in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The new music this time is a congregational accompaniment for the Easter hymn “He Is Risen.”
This arrangement is designed to accompany a congregation.
Here’s an early Christmas present: 2022’s Christmas carol, called “Night of Nights,” and a congregational accompaniment for “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear.”
“Night of Nights” is my Christmas carol for 2022.
Original Christmas carol: Words by Edmund H. Sears; Music by Richard S. Willis. Arrangement for four-hand piano accompaniment by Sally DeFord.
