29 weeks just isn’t enough

You may have listened to the beautiful and talented Jacosa Limutau Ainu’u sing “I Glory In My Jesus” or “It Was for Me.”
You may have listened to her and her husband sing this duet a few Christmases ago:
On July 27, Jacosa should have been welcoming a new baby boy into the world. Instead, baby Makai was born at 29 weeks–that’s about 11 weeks short of full term.
Jacosa has been making multiple daily trips to the neonatal intensive care unit… for over two months… during a pandemic… and there’s still no definite end in sight for baby Makai’s NICU stay.
A friend kindly set up this GoFundMe page for her and her little family. If you can help them out with a donation, please consider it.

Whether you can help them with a donation or not, please keep baby Makai and his family in your prayers.

Dear Sally,
My niece had a baby girl last year born premature with multiple disabilities. Sadly, she went to heaven after a few months living in the NICU.
We learned that GoFundMe is a remarkable way to offset the huge financial devastation, but they charge a fee. Would it be possible to post a Venmo account or PayPal or some other way to donate money directly, without incurring commission fees?

Thank you, that’s perfect!
We had a little boy (now 25) born at 26 weeks. We know how hard it is to have a little one in the hospital for an extended period of time. After nearly 3.5 months, our son came home on his due date. The best advice I was given by one of the neonatal nurses is to keep a daily journal. These little ones often take two steps forward and one backward and it’s hard in the moment to see any progress, but over time, they do. Our prayers go out to this sweet family and their little one.
You bet I will donate. In times like this, as a nurse, there are so many more needs than just caring for someone physically and emotionally. I have witnessed the financial burden placed on families through this Pandemic. It is noteworthy to say the least. Prayer, faith, hope AND CHARITY.
Thank you so much for responding and adding your thoughts. Bless you for your service in nursing! <3
