Grandbaby #5 gets a song of her own: “For Such a Time As This”
New this time is a song for my most recent grandbaby. She was born nearly two years ago, and her song has been ready for nearly half that time. Then mortality happened, so it got set aside for a while. Now I’m pleased to get to celebrate this new little life. So, in her internet debut, here is Aerith Noel Wilson:
Ta daaaaa! Oh, kids (and cats) and boxes. Why do we buy them toys when the packaging is much more fun? Amazon, please send one large, empty box. I promise not to return it.
Aerith is adorable and fun and funny and she was soooo worth waiting for. One of these days she will actually listen to her song, called “For Such a Time As This,” and when she does I hope she realizes how happy we are that she joined our family at just the right time.
Here’s a recording of the solo version, with vocals by Allyse Smith Taylor, with Rebecca Lord on viola:
The artwork, which may look a bit familiar, is by Natasha Nashadka. In digital publishing, you can’t reuse existing cover art. So Natasha graciously changed the color scheme, bless her!
The title and main thought of the song is, of course, based on Mordecai’s words to Esther:
“…who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14 KJV
Yes, there are a bazillion songs out there with that title, using that thought. That’s okay. This one is just for Aerith.
Aerith may never meet challenges that equal Esther’s, but it’s hard to find a better example for such times as these. Esther was brave, she was wise, and she was good–a strong woman of great faith, which is the kind of person I hope Aerith will grow to be.
Beautiful!!!! thank you again…

That new song, “For such a time as this is”, is absolutely wonderful! Words and music are so beautiful!
I have used your songs several times when asked to sing in a sacrament meeting. They all have beautiful messages. I love them!
Sally SO touching! He is my perfect friend, I love that phrase. As I continue to serve my mission and work with many students from BYUH at the Polynesian Cultural Center, this is a message I will continue to convey to them, that Jesus is their perfect friend, and that the Savior will never leave their sides. Thank you again, for sharing your talents and time seving the Lord with your special gift of music.
Absolutely beautiful! I am a choral director can envision children singing this piece! We need uplifting music ‘for such a time as this!’
Thank you for inspiring the world with heavenly music!
Another sweet song…in my beloved 3/4 times so I can dance it with my 10th grandchild (age two) before she goes to bed. Our job as parents and grandparents is to create spiritual muscle memory in scripture stories, inspiring family memories, peaceful tome together…and my favorite, Song.
If this is available with a performance/accompaniment track), I will add it to my repertoire.
May God nurture your health and well-being, my friend.

What a beautiful song. I can actually see it being sung by a youth or YW choir. Lucky you to have the talent to write your granddaughter such a song.
What a lucky little one to have such a gifted grandmother write her such a beautiful song!
What a sweet and heart felt song. It is so applicable to hear at a new birth but also as we live in this world, that our Savior is our friend and we all need to become like him and he will lead us by the hand to survive this world. Thank you so much!!
